Barcelona are looking to add another left-sided attacker. With Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams all linked. While they have also been linked with Rossoneri’s 26-year-old winger Leao.
While Araujo’s future is still up in the air, with the Uruguayan defender set to extend his contract with the club until 2031. His release clause drops to €65m between July 1 and 15. Meaning the 26-year-old centre-back has attracted interest from Bayern Munich and AC Milan, with Massimiliano Allegri reportedly a big admirer of Araujo.
AC Milan have reportedly offered Leao in exchange for Araujo. A deal that could solve problems for both teams at the same time. And it will be interesting to see if all parties will move forward to make the deal happen.
A move for Leao has been talked up in the Catalan press before. With Mundo Deportivo previously claiming he is “crazy” about joining Barca and the feeling is he would “explode” in Catalunya.
Indeed there has been speculation about Leao’s future at Milan throughout the 2025-26 season. And questions seem to being asked once again as the summer transfer window reopens.
